Terms of Service
The short version
- TDEE Tracker is a nutrition and workout tracking tool, not a doctor, dietitian or personal trainer. Check with a professional before changing your diet or starting exercise if you have a medical condition.
- Exercise carries a risk of injury. You choose what you do and how hard you push.
- The core tracker is free. Pro features, when available, are a paid subscription you can cancel any time.
- Your data is yours. Our recipes and food database are ours; use them in the app, don't resell them.
- Be honest, don't abuse the service, and we'll keep it running for you.
These terms are an agreement between you and Champions Performance ("we", "us"), which operates TDEE Tracker. By using the website or app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use TDEE Tracker. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms.
1. TDEE Tracker is not medical advice
TDEE Tracker calculates calorie targets, macronutrient splits, nutrient targets and pace estimates using published formulas (such as Mifflin-St Jeor and the US Dietary Reference Intakes) applied to the details you enter. These are general wellness estimates for healthy adults.
- They are not a diagnosis, treatment or substitute for advice from a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, have or have had an eating disorder, take medication that affects appetite or weight (including GLP-1 medications), or have any medical condition, talk to a professional before following any target the app suggests.
- The app enforces minimum calorie floors and caps weight-loss pace at 2% of body weight per week. These are safety guardrails, not recommendations to go that fast.
- Stop using any target that makes you feel unwell and seek medical advice.
You are responsible for decisions you make about your own eating and exercise.
We don't screen your health. TDEE Tracker doesn't ask about your medical history and can't tell whether a target, meal plan or workout is right for you. You're responsible for checking with a qualified professional when any of the points above apply to you. The first time you open the app, it shows a short version of this notice and section 2 and asks you to agree to it. We keep a record of the date you agreed, and we don't ask again.
Accurate information. Your targets depend on what you enter, including your age, weight and activity level. Please keep them accurate and up to date.
No coaching relationship. Using the free app or Pro doesn't create a coach–client, dietitian–patient or doctor–patient relationship with us. Any future coached service will come with its own agreement that names who your coach is and what they're qualified to do.
Supplements. TDEE Tracker doesn't recommend supplements or "fat burners". Any information about supplements is general; check with a doctor or pharmacist before taking one, especially if you take medication.
2. Exercise and workouts
- Physical exercise, including lifting weights and cardio, carries a risk of injury, and in rare cases serious harm. Workout plans and logs in TDEE Tracker are general and are not supervised by a trainer.
- Start with weights and intensities that feel easy, learn each movement properly, warm up, and progress gradually.
- Stop exercising and seek medical help if you feel chest pain or pressure, dizziness or faintness, unusual shortness of breath, an irregular heartbeat, or sharp or worsening pain.
- Talk to a doctor before you start if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, or kidney or liver disease; if you've had chest pain, dizziness or fainting during activity; if you're pregnant or recently gave birth; if you take medication that affects your heart rate or blood sugar; or if you have an injury or joint pain.
- The first time you open the app you'll be asked to agree to a short notice covering these risks and section 1. We keep a record of the date you agreed.
- You choose which exercises to do, what weight to use and how hard to push, and you take on the risks of the physical activity you choose. Nothing in this section limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit (see section 10).
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 to use TDEE Tracker, with or without an account, and at least 18 to subscribe to Pro. If you're 16 or 17, use TDEE Tracker with a parent's or guardian's permission.
- When you create an account, you confirm that you're 16 or older and that you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We record the date you agreed and which version of the Terms you agreed to. The birth month and year you give must match: if they show you're under 16, no account is created.
- We ask for your month and year of birth before you start. If the answer is under 16, the app won't open on that device, anything saved on it is erased, and any account is deleted.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
- Give us a working email address so we can send sign-in links, receipts and important notices.
- One person per account. Coaches who want to see clients' logs should wait for the Coached tier rather than sharing logins.
4. Free and Pro
Free. The food diary, nutrient tracking, TDEE calculator, goal planner, weight trend, saved meals, your own recipes, TDEE Kitchen recipes, weekly check-in and workout logger are free, and we don't plan to move these basics behind a paywall. Free users may see ads in the future; never on food logging or the weekly check-in.
Pro. Pro adds features such as weekly meal plans, workout plans, adaptive targets and new recipe packs, with no ads. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Pro will be offered three ways:
- Yearly, with a free trial. Renews automatically every year until you cancel. We'll remind you before the trial ends and before any yearly charge. If it isn't worth it, ask within 30 days of being charged for the year and we'll refund that charge. A founding price, when offered, stays the same for as long as your subscription continues without a break.
- Monthly. Renews automatically every month until you cancel. Monthly charges aren't refunded except where the law requires it or we failed to provide the service.
- Lifetime, a single payment, while lifetime spots are offered. It gives you Pro for as long as TDEE Tracker is offered, with no renewals. Lifetime is a final sale and isn't refundable, except where the law requires it or we failed to provide the service. If you're in the EU, EEA or UK, you'll be asked at checkout to agree that Pro starts right away and that you lose your 14-day right to withdraw once it does; we'll confirm this by email. Features added later that cost us money every time they're used may have fair-use limits for all members.
Before you buy we'll show the price, how often you'll be billed (or that it's a single payment) and, for subscriptions, that they renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel a subscription online at any time and keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. If you buy through Apple or Google, their store handles billing, cancellation and refunds. We may change Pro pricing with at least 30 days' notice; for subscriptions, the new price applies from your next renewal.
Pro features that are described as "coming soon" in the app are previews and may change before release. Joining the Pro waitlist is free and doesn't commit you to buy.
5. Your content
Everything you enter, including your food log, weights, custom foods, recipes and notes, belongs to you. You give us permission to store, process and display it so the app can work and sync between your devices, and nothing more. You can export it or delete it at any time.
You're responsible for what you enter. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, and don't enter other people's personal information.
Photos and stories. We will never use your photos, progress pictures, data or story in marketing or testimonials unless you give separate, opt-in permission for that specific use. You can withdraw that permission at any time and we'll remove it.
6. Our content
The TDEE Tracker name, logo, app design, TDEE Kitchen recipes, recipe packs, text and code are owned by us or our licensors. You may use them within the app for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or scrape the recipe packs or the app, or use them to build a competing product.
Food composition data comes from the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, which is in the public domain. Branded product names in that database belong to their owners.
7. Acceptable use
Don't:
- break into, overload or interfere with the service or other people's accounts;
- use automated tools to copy the recipe library or food database;
- use the app for anything illegal, or to harm yourself or others;
- share your login or let others use your subscription;
- reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it.
8. Accuracy of data
Nutrition values come from the USDA database and from recipes we've weighed and calculated. They're averages: the exact food on your plate will vary. Values for foods and recipes you create yourself depend on what you type in. Weight-trend projections and "reach your goal by" dates are estimates based on your recent weight trend and standard energy formulas, and real progress won't match them exactly. Use the numbers as a guide, not a guarantee.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep TDEE Tracker available at all times, but it may be down for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. The app works offline with the data on your device and syncs when you reconnect. We may add, change or remove features; if we remove a free feature you rely on, we'll give notice in the app. We may also stop offering the service altogether with at least 60 days' notice, during which you can export your data.
10. Liability
TDEE Tracker is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the service and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for any health outcome from following targets or information in the app. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you've paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile or by emailing us; your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it. Sections 5, 6, 10 and 12 survive the end of this agreement.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled in the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
